The Fully Valued Educator: Practicing Self-Care to Better Care for Others

Embark on a transformative journey of self-care and community with our mindfulness-based, experiential retreat designed specifically for educators. Discover how the Full Value Commitment (FVC) and its six principles can serve as a powerful framework for creating safe, supportive, and effective learning communities.

Over the course of this three-day retreat, you’ll explore the FVC’s core principle: “Care for Self and Others.” Much like the airplane safety reminder to “put your oxygen mask on first,” this retreat emphasizes the importance of prioritizing your own well-being to better serve those around you.

Unlike traditional professional development, this experience is centered on you—your growth, your wellness, and your ability to lead with intention and balance.

Where: The Browne Center, 340 Dame Rd, Durham, NH 03824

A Full Value Approach to Building Resilience: Helping Students Navigate Life’s Challenges

A recent study of Vermont youth revealed the following: “Research finds depression rates in Vermont youth have nearly doubled in recent years. The most recent survey from 2023 found that about one-third of high school students and one-quarter of middle school students say their mental health is not good most of the time or always. The number of students who report self- harm and make a suicide plan has also steadily increased over the past decade.”

These findings are not unique to Vermont and are evidence that we are still stuck in a pandemic trough.

Are you concerned about the emotional and physical safety of your students during these challenging times? This workshop will introduce you to the tools needed for effective intervention.

We focus on integrating the Five Factors of Resilience—as identified in the National Institute of Health 2022 report, Suicide Resilience: A Concept Analysis—into classroom practices.

Where: The Browne Center, 340 Dame Rd, Durham, NH 03824
