StandUp 2016

On Friday, May 20th, Jeff Frigon, Youth Programs Coordinator and intern Sam Klemarczyk participated in the 2016 StandUP to Bullying Training and Action Summit.  This is the 7th iteration in the StandUP summit series and once again showcased the partnership between schools and Empower Peace.

STAND UP to Bullying is a program of Empower Peace, a non-profit organization in Boston, bringing together middle and high school students and educating, inspiring and empowering students to take an active role in combating bullying in their schools and communities.  Empower Peace, in partnership with the renowned anti-bullying organization the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center at Bridgewater State University (MARC) and The Browne Center conducts these programs to provide training and empowerment in bullying prevention for participating schools.

In two sessions with over 300 students and teachers in attendance, MARC facilitated their powerful Action Summit with students while Jeff presented a professional development workshop to teachers on the connection between empathy, brain science, & bullying.
