Happy New Year!

This month we hosted the field days for the UNH Course – SOLO Wilderness First Responder (WFR).  Above is a group picture following a mock rescue scenario requiring a stokes litter.

SOLO’s WFR course is the recognized industry standard for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, and ski patrollers.  It is a comprehensive and in-depth look at the standards and skills of dealing with: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies and Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies.

We strive to prevent the need for these skills through adequate preparation, however having a trained WFR around is always a good thing!

Wishing you all the best,

Pam, Mark, Tara, Jeff & Crystie
