Conflict Resolution

Our Conflict Resolution programs develop participants’ skills in cooperation, communication, listening, and understanding different points of view. With these new or refined skills, students can work to appropriately resolve and de-escalate conflict or prevent it altogether. This skill development is accomplished through participating in collaborative, non-competitive activities that promote helpfulness, inclusiveness, responsibility as well as building new behavioral norms that support these principles.

Conflict Resolution programs include:

  • Adventure activities as an active and engaging vehicle for learning conflict resolution
  • Strategies to integrate peer mediation
  • Opportunities to develop an understanding of how and why conflict occurs and ways to manage conflict and anger
  • Experiences in which participants learn and practice methods for resolving conflict

"The Browne Center is a wonderful place to go to and learn about teamwork and cooperation. Thank you very much for this experience and learning opportunity. I took a lot out of it and will carry what I learned with me." - High school student
